Jesus meant just what he said, life eternal is dependent on knowledge of who is God and who is Jesus Christ. In John 17 :5 Jesus clearly states that God is his father and Peter clearly states that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God, Mat16:16. Anyone who desires life eternal must embrace these truths and not continue to take refuge in ignorance. As Acts 17:30 states, "the times of this ignorance God winked at, but now commandeth all men every where to repent", (Authorised King James Version).
The statements by both the Lord Jesus Christ and Peter are compelling truths which should be taken seriously. In Jesus' case it was in his prayer just before he left his little flock and in Peter's case he was commended by Jesus for saying it. How then can so many honest people be caught in the web of lies which declares that Jesus is God?
I now invite comments.

Please can you explain these findings
ReplyDelete--------------------------------------
Ephesians chapter 4 vs 14 to 32. Focusing on vs 13 and vs 21,23 and vs 32.
Also Chapter 3 vs 9 to 10 =>And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the begining of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ.
To intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God.
According to the external purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Finally, I leave this blog with vs 19 of chapter 3 ... And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
In John10:30 Jesus did say "I and my father are one", clearly Jesus said this but he explained what he meant in John 17:21-22 when he prayed that his followers may be one as he and the father are. So you see Jesus was talking about unity. It is my sincere wish that all jesus' people today be one.
ReplyDeleteI will address the scriptures in Ephesians chapters 3 and 4 which I have been asked to explain as follows:Paul in preaching to the Gentiles expained how the sacred secret of God's Kingdom which he would establish through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ was by the manifold wisdom of God. He declared that this secret was revealed to him for the benefit of the Gentiles, who are now to be fellow heirs and of the same body through the church. Paul prayed for the Gentiles that they be filled with the fullness of God and the love of the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul also wanted the Gentiles to be appreciative and to keep from sinful behaviour and to be kind and forgiving towards each other.
ReplyDeleteHe spoke of the various ministries which God has given through the gifts of the spirit for the benefit of the church. The saints should aspire to come to the knowledge of the Son of God. I hope my comments are beneficial.
